Tiens Online Training Lesson 7: Goal Setting
Tiens Online Training Lesson 7: Goal Setting
Imagine if you were blindfolded and placed in a room, then given a gun to shoot a target 20 meters away. Even if you were the best sniper in the world, it would be almost impossible to achieve your target! The reason is very simple, a target you cannot see, you can never hit.
If you get into this business and you do not have any clearly set out objective (the target), it doesn’t matter how much enthusiasm you have or how much money, time and effort you put in, they will all be wasted because they will be off target.
The simple lesson here is this one: you need to “see” your target, clearly plan your actions and then expend the effort and time required to hit a bull’s eye!
It has been shown repeatedly that over 60% of people that set goals toward achieving whatever endeavor they set upon themselves to accomplish actually achieve them! This shows clearly that goal setting is a very important part of any venture.

Goals are dreams with a deadline – Anonymous.
So what should we do to set goals clearly?
We will have two types of goals. The first are your personal goals. These you will fill in and work on at your own time. I hasten to add though that it is extremely important that you set these and fill in the documents within as your personal goals are far more important than the business goals!
Your personal goals are intertwined with your dreams; the business goals are connected to the means by which you will achieve your dreams. The business goals are Tiens related and Tiens is the vehicle that will take you to your dreams. You must realize that the vehicle that takes you to your destination is not as important as the destination itself. Come to think of it, even the journey, though necessary, isn’t also as important as the destination.

So, the destination supersedes all else. Therefore, where you are going is far more important than the route you use to get there. But a little moral reminder – if you use shortcuts you will pay for it somewhere along the way because what may look like a shortcut may instead become a very long route! Thus it is far better to walk the trodden path (hard as it may seem at first) that using shortcuts!
So let’s get started with the business goals.
So let’s get started with the business goals.
Business Goals

Income
The income factor in this business is two-fold. There is income you earn from retailing the product and income from bonuses and network building.
Retail Sales
This kind of income is unpredictable because it has more to do with personal skill at selling products and the market in which you will expose the products. This kind of income can be virtually any figure you choose to aim for because it has more to do with how many units you move and how fast you do so. In short, you can start making money from day one.
Network building
On a basic level, the income you can earn comes from your personal purchases. Simply put the more products you purchase for consumption, the more money the company pays you back. However, this income is always a percentage of your personal purchases and that can range from 20% as a 3 Star Distributor to 43% as an 8 Star distributor.
This income only starts to get larger than what you spend if you choose to build a network. This is achieved by bringing in seven people directly under you in the first place, then having them purchase products worth $200 each. They then each bring in seven under them and have those do the same by also purchasing products worth $200 each.
Once this is done, your next step is to have them all duplicate the process of consumption and of bringing in new people under themselves as well as those who come in under those recruited by those you registered. Once this process becomes self sustaining – with consumption – then the income begins to increase exponentially and there is no limit as to how much you can earn potentially! This friend is the potential of network marketing!
Below is an industry average of what incomes are possible and when they can be achieved. These are realistic and are not exaggerated in any way. A large portion of those that join this business do not even achieve these figures not because they are hard to achieve, but because they do not execute the daily activities diligently!
The figures given below are based on network building and not sales or retailing.
Below is an outline of the average successful distributor potentials – all is subject to individuals input and hard work. These incomes are based on individuals bonuses only and does not include sales)
$100 per month – within 4 months; $200 per month – within 6 months; $300 per month – within 9 months; $400 per month – within 1 year; $500 per month – within 1 year 6 months; $1,000 per month – within 2 years; $2,000 per month – within 3 years.
One more thing, the above incomes are AVERAGE! This means there are many who have far exceeded these incomes right from day one! Now a little warning here…
If the income is way above these averages you see here, then there is a lot of retailing in the network. Now whilst this is great for your bonus income, it is not sustainable and will come down in a while. This can have an adverse effect on the morale of your downlines and you.
If the income is way below these averages, then your network is inactive or not properly built. This means that you are stalling in your income earning potential either through your own inactivity or the network inactivity or both. Either way it serves as a guide to tell you what you could potentially be earning all factors being equal.
