Tiens Online Training Lesson 5: The System Tools
The Tools
There are basically two types of tools for use to build your Network Marketing business, online tools and offline tools. We will be looking at both today starting with the offline tools.
What is a tool? It is an object or system designed to simplify work. This means when you use tools, your work is more effective with less effort. For example, if you were to dig one acre of land with a hoe, it would take quite a while to finish the job (to be specific, about ten days). However, if you did the same job with a tractor, it would only take a couple of hours to do the same job!
Intelligent smart networkers always use the tools provided to simplify the work required and maximize the results.
Here we will first look at the offline tools.
Offline tools
1. Booklet – The Truth About Money (Also an online version found here).
This particular booklet is very handy for broaching the whole network marketing subject to new comers and even helping those that have heard something but got it all wrong to get the right perspective on this business. This particular booklet is best lent to a prospect and then collected two to three days later. Here is how it is best utilized.

Here is how it is best utilized.
a. Have a good number of these booklets with you at all times (a preferable minimum of eight to ten booklets is ideal – reason being that many get lost or never get returned). Also add your name and number on the front inner sleeve of the book so that if someone decides they would like to know more, they can easily contact you.
b. Carry one with you on your rounds – in case you bump into a prospect. You can also make appointments to deliver the same booklet.
c. When you meet your prospect, use the FORM style of conversation. Form is an acronym for F – Family, O – Occupation, R – Recreation, M – Money. This way you can start your conversation by first asking about the family, then leading it to their occupation, then recreation and finally money. Find a skillful way to introduce the money topic and subtly ask about the challenges they are undergoing.
d. Once challenges come up (like budget is too tight, or having problem with debt, or looking to start a business etc) then you subtly indicate that you also were in the same situation but have found what looks like a great way out.
e. When asked what that is, PLEASE DO NOT MENTION TIENS, TIANSHI OR EVEN NETWORK MARKETING! This is because many may have the wrong view or experience of the business; so instead, you introduce the booklet and then ask them if they would like to read it and then see whether what is discussed makes sense!
f. Stress that you only have this one copy and they need to give it back to you ASAP! Fix down the collection date (two to three days from the hand over day) to ensure that they actually read the booklet instead of just putting it away.
g. Follow up with a phone call after two days to confirm your collection day and to determine whether the booklet has been read.
2. Flyer/Flipchart (Also an online version found here)

2. Flyer/Flipchart (Also an online version found here)
a. After the collection date for the booklet has been agreed, carry your flyer with you (also carry a registration form and a spare kit)
b. Meet your prospect and deduce whether the booklet has struck a chord with them. (Are they enthusiastic about the information within or are they indifferent).
c. If indifferent, thank them for returning your booklet and move onto the next prospect. This may not be the best business for them at present. Keep their name for future attempts. You may also learn that they never really read the booklet anyways.
d. If enthusiastic, then you can ask whether they have ten minutes to spare, then head on over to someplace relaxing and sit down.
e. Tell them that you will read the flyer with them to show them the opportunity and what it entails.
f. Please READ THE FLYER! Do not lend to prospect or try to explain with interjections. Just read through to the end!
g. You will notice that the entire OPP (Open Plan Presentation) is within and actually leads to a close. They refuse, ask for more time or else register as a consumer or as a business builder!
h. Remove your registration forms and proceed with registration process for those registering or thank them for their time and then move onto next prospect.
i. If the prospect wants to join but hasn’t got the money at the time, get out your diary and get them to make a commitment as to when they will be ready to get started, then take note of the same. This must be backed by regular follow up via email, sms and phone.
